Sundance Musings: Western out West

  |   Uncategorized

A belated dispatch from Court 13’s very own Jake Graham-Felsen, on his first Sundance experience:

Weeks removed from the snow capped mountains of Park City, the Ross Brothers have settled back in to the more climate friendly below-sea-level confines of New Orleans, following a hell of a time at Sundance. WESTERN had a great run at the festival and the Brothers came home with a Special Jury Prize for Vérité Filmmaking to boot. Rolling deep with their posse, including Eagle Pass’ very own Martin Wall along with a crew from their hometown of Sidney, Ohio, they took on the hoards of Main Street, threw down at O’Shucks Bar, and even went dog-sledding. The fun went on to include a heated but cordial sports debate between your’s truly (Jack the Snack) and legendary Knicks fan Spike Lee. The festival fun will undoubtedly continue on for WESTERN and Ross Bros. Stay tuned to their instagram (@ross_bros) and twitter (@rossbros) to find out if the film is coming to city near you!
